Stephen Ross

Owner & License Holder

(Lic. #2445PW)

Stephen has spent over a decade in the pest control industry & has a deep love for the environment. His skills, experience and knowledge base accrued in that time has equipped him in starting and managing a successful business.

Rise Pest Management was born after Stephen spent many years in the pest control industry working for another small company. Over the years, he developed a passion for the environment. Seeing what impact the over-application of pesticides has on our ecology, he wanted full control over which chemicals got applied, where they're applied, and how they're applied.

Stephen contemplated leaving the pest industry altogether but after prayer and contemplation, decided that if he left the industry, there would be another pest technician filling his shoes, who didn’t care about the environment as much as he did. So he took the ‘leap of faith’ and decided to stay. And it was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

Mosquito Control

Have you ever wondered if there is a way to treat for mosquitoes

without killing pollinators?

Meet In2Care!

The In2Care® Mosquito Station is made of durable plastic and uses water with an odor lure to attract egg-laying Aedes and Culex mosquitoes. Once inside, mosquitoes contact the specially treated gauze near the water surface and get contaminated with a larvicide and a fungus. We exploit the fact that Aedes and Culex like to divide their eggs over multiple sites; by letting them fly out of the Station whilst carrying larvicide on their legs. They transport the larvicide and contaminate several breeding sites around the Station.

Mosquito fogging, while effective in controlling mosquito populations, can have unintended consequences on other insects, including important pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Pollinators play a crucial role in our ecosystem by aiding in the process of pollination, which is essential for the reproduction of many plants.

To protect these valuable pollinators, it is important to consider alternative mosquito control methods that are less harmful to the environment. By choosing more eco-friendly options, we can strike a balance between controlling mosquito populations and preserving the well-being of our pollinators.

Honeybee Rescues

Honeybee colonies typically swarm in the springtime when they have outgrown their colony and they are searching for a new place to establish a hive. During this time, the queen bee leaves the original colony with a large group of worker bees in search of a suitable location.

Swarming is a natural process for honeybees to reproduce and expand their population. The swarm may cluster together temporarily while scout bees search for a new home, such as a hollow tree or abandoned structure. Sometimes they swarm to the inside of a home, floor, soffit, or inside brick structures. In 2023 alone, we performed over 35+ honeybee relocations. All of our cutouts performed include removal & full repair.

Starting in 2024, we offer a 5 year 100% warranty on all of our work.

If a different colony of honeybees are found in the same location as the cutout we performed - we will perform another cutout, at no additional cost.

We provide safe & humane honeybee relocations to

anywhere in the Triangle and Beyond

“This company is the best! They take time to explain what they are doing, let you know about any concerns but don’t try to upsell. They even offered to hang my bat box for me! They focus on the outside of the home, and only spray inside the home if it’s needed. Highly recommended”

-Cindy S.
